Ability Gives – Sponsor a Child

What is Ability Gives

Ability Gives is our equipment grant program, started in the Spring of 2012 with the generous support from the Pollack Family. Ability Gives is dedicated to helping families acquire necessary equipment and aids for children (under 18 years of age) with a disability or a complex medical condition. We have given the gift of independence to more than 200 children to date, valued at over $450,000!

Why is Ability Gives Important?

Having a child with a disability brings a unique set of challenges to a family’s life. From learning how to manage their health needs to wanting to help them achieve their personal best, it’s a 24/7 undertaking!

And then you add in all the “extras”, the adapted equipment, specialized seating, writing aids, etc., that quickly drain often limited financial resources. It is that drain that commonly prevents many children from getting the equipment they need. We need to help these families because they can’t do it alone!

You can help change a life today!

We want to bridge that financial gap and turn the impossible into possible! You can help us build that bridge.

There is no greater gift for these children, than the gift of independence

Contact us and let us know what equipment you are looking for, and the cost. Once approved, we will profile your child to raise the funds for the equipment when it is your turn, so we will need a picture along with a paragraph describing your child, what equipment is needed and why.

Donate today to our ongoing campaign to support a child in need.

If you would like to make an in-kind donation of items, or a general donation over the phone, or if you would like a handwritten note sent to a person for whom you are donating, please contact us.
